Course Structure
Module 1: Disorders of the Hypothalamus and Pituitary Exploring the physiological principles of the hypothalamic pituitary axes and common disorders affecting the hypothalamus and pituitary. Module 2: Disorders of Thyroid Applying an understanding of the physiology of the thyroid and its hormones to critical awareness of the diagnosis and management of disorders of the thyroid. Module 3: Disorders of Adrenals Facilitating an improved understanding of the physiology and patho-physiology of the adrenal glands in relation to endocrine disorders of the adrenal glands. Module 4:Disorders of Parathyroid, Calcium and Bones Demonstrating critical clinical decision-making skills in relation to the management of a variety of conditions affecting the adrenal glands. Module 5:Reproductive Endocrinology Gaining an in-depth understanding of the presentation, investigation, diagnosis and management of reproductive endocrine disorders. Module 6:Endocrine related cancers Gaining an in-depth understanding of the presentation, investigation, diagnosis and management of endocrine-related cancers.
Learning and Assessment
Assessment will be based on written assignments, posters and oral presentations, multiple choice questions (MCQ) and short-answer question (SAQ) examinations, and a full laboratory project write-up. Dissertation : 10,000 - 15,000 words.
Career and Placement
This programme is directly delivered through online learning portal, you will have access to video and audio recordings of all onsite lectures, as well as video tutorials for any lab based elements of the course. All written assignments will be submitted through the portal, while poster and oral presentations will be assessed via Skype.
